From 1993 to 2000, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Northwestern Polytechnic University, Beihang University, University of Minnesota, and Nanyang Technological University. From 2000 to 2004, he worked as an assistant chief engineer at Singapore Technologies Engineering Aerospace.
