Dr. Zaid Ulhassan has completed his Ph.D. from the Institute of Crop Science, College of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Zhejiang University, China. Currently, he is working at Hainan University, China. His main research interest includes deciphering heavy metals/metalloids, temperature, drought, salinity, and other hazardous contaminant responses and tolerance mechanisms in plants. He is primarily focused on creating accessible and cost-effective technological solutions to enhance crop productivity and ensure sustainable agricultural yields under challenging conditions. He has published over 90 research/review articles/book chapters in peer-reviewed international journals and renowned publishers. To date, his work has received over 3700 citations (Google Scholar). He has been recognized as one of the world's top 2% of scientists in 2024 by Stanford University, US. He envisions working independently and energetically to translate his knowledge into the design of resilient, superior, high-yielding crop varieties.
