My research focuses on nitrogen biogeochemistry and carbon sequestration in agroecosystems, with an emphasis on the coupled roles of plants, soils, and the soil microbiome. I investigate the molecular and ecological mechanisms governing nitrogen transformations and carbon cycling, particularly greenhouse gas emissions, in both paddy and upland soils. A central theme of my work is understanding how soil organic matter and functional microbial taxa regulate nitrogen cycling processes and associated environmental impacts in intensively managed agroecosystems.
