The step-stress accelerated degradation test (ADT) provides a feasible method for assessing the storage life of high-reliability, long-life products. However, this method results in a slower rate of performance degradation at the beginning of the test, significantly reducing the test efficiency. Therefore, this article proposes an assessment method for the step-down stress ADT that considers random effects and detection errors (SDRD). Firstly, a new Inverse Gaussian (IG) model is proposed. The model introduces the Gamma distribution to characterize the randomness of the product degradation path and uses the normal distribution to describe the detection errors of performance parameters. In addition, to solve the problem that the likelihood function of the IG model is complex and has no explicit expression, the Monte Carlo (MC) method is used to estimate unknown parameters of the model. This approach enhances computational accuracy and efficiency. Finally, to verify the effectiveness of the SDRD method, it is applied to the step-down stress ADT data from a specific missile tank to assess its storage life. Comparing the life assessment results of different methods, the conclusion shows that the SDRD method is more effective for assessing the storage life of high-reliability, long-life products.

Due to their low noise and high efficiency, ducted fans are extensively used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). As the core lift and propulsion units, the aerodynamic performance of dual-ducted fans critically determines propulsion efficiency and flight stability. However, when operating near the ground, variations in ground clearance and the gap between ducts disrupt the isolated flow fields, introducing ground effect and aerodynamic coupling that pose significant stability risks. To address this, we developed a high-fidelity numerical model using the Unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier–Stokes approach with sliding mesh technology and the Shear-Stress Transport k-ω turbulence model. This study reveals the macroscopic aerodynamic characteristics of dual-ducted fans as functions of ground clearance and duct gap, and clarifies the underlying flow mechanisms. The research results indicate that the performance of a signle-ducted fan is highly sensitive to ground clearance: a critical threshold of thrust occurs when the ground clearance (h) at the duct outlet is 0.75 times the rotor disk diameter (D). Under ground-effect-free conditions, the dual duct gap dominates the aerodynamic interference pattern: the total thrust of the system reaches its maximum value when the minimum spacing between the outer edges of the two ducts is 6 times the rotor disk radius. The coupling effect of ground clearance and duct gap exhibits significant nonlinear characteristics: thrust first decreases and then increases with increasing ground clearance, and the sensitive range of gap variation is h/D=0.5–1.0. These findings are crucial for optimizing the layout of ducted UAVs and enhancing UAV flight control to ensure safe and efficient operation under near-ground conditions.

Despite the widespread deployment of quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), ensuring their flight stability under asymmetric environmental disturbances, such as concurrent wind and rain, remains a significant challenge. To address the trajectory tracking problem under these severe conditions, this paper proposes a Composite Continuous Rapid Nonsingular Adaptive Terminal Sliding Mode (CCRNATSM) control strategy. First, a composite dynamic model is developed, integrating wind aerodynamics with rain impact characteristics to accurately simulate realistic flight environments. A High-Order Sliding Mode Observer (HOSMO) is then employed for the real-time, accurate estimation of these lumped disturbances. Subsequently, this observer is integrated with an adaptive control law to ensure rapid and precise system stabilization. Comparative simulations conducted under strong disturbance conditions demonstrate that the proposed method exhibits superior performance over existing strategies, reducing roll angle deviation by 75% and shortening the recovery time to 1.5 s. Ultimately, this control strategy significantly enhances the robustness and safety of quadrotor UAVs operating in harsh, asymmetric environments.
