Biography

I am a scientist with a strong background in chemical biology, molecular biology, and therapeutic discovery, passionate about translating biomolecular research into real-world health solutions. My scientific journey began with studies in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Organic Chemistry, which fueled my interest in drug discovery. During my Master’s at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, I investigated novel nimesulide derivatives, uncovering their anti-inflammatory and anticancer mechanisms through enzyme- and cell-based assays. For my PhD at the University of Leicester (UK), under Dr. Richard Doveston, I focused on the regulation of prolyl isomerase Pin1, gaining expertise in protein expression, enzyme activity assays, small-molecule synthesis, and biophysical methods to study protein–protein interactions. Currently, I am an R&D Specialist at the Biotechnology Institute of the Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB), where I continue exploring molecular mechanisms and developing innovative approaches for therapeutic discovery. I am particularly interested in bridging basic science, chemical biology, and translational medicine to address unmet medical needs.
