Senior researcher with over fifteen years of experience in nanotechnology, molecular modeling, and biocatalysis. Since 2020, I have held a tenured appointment as Researcher “B” T.C. at the Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology, UNAM (CNyN-UNAM) and am a Level II member of the National System of Researchers (SNI). I hold a B.Sc. in Food Engineering (Universidad del Bío-Bío, Chile) and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Sciences with specialization in Chemistry (Universidad de Concepción, Chile), followed by postdoctoral training at the Instituto de Biotecnología, UNAM.
At CNyN-UNAM I have led research in molecular simulation, nanobiosensor design, electron transfer in enzymes, and hybrid materials for nanotechnology. My work has resulted in over 60 publications in high-impact journals, book chapters, and leadership in PAPIIT, LANCAD, and international projects. Key projects include a nanobiosensor for HPV diagnosis (PAPIIT IG200320) and in silico studies of protein-ligand interactions for nanomedicine (LANCAD-UNAM-DGTIC-286).
I have supervised postdoctoral researchers and students, and teach courses such as “Molecular Simulation of Biological Systems” and “Thermodynamics and Statistical Thermodynamics” in the UNAM Nanotechnology program. I have served on more than 60 thesis committees. My leadership includes establishing the Molecular Simulations Subunit of the nanoFAB® National Laboratory and contributing to the creation of the Department of Nanomaterials Modeling at CNyN.
