This study presents a bibliometric analysis of the publications on melatonin research from the Scopus database during the period 2015–2019. Based on the keywords used, which are related to melatonin in the article title, the study retrieved 4411 documents for further analysis using various tools. We used Microsoft Excel to conduct the frequency analysis, VOSviewer for data visualization, and Harzing’s Publish or Perish for citation metrics and analysis. This study reports the results using standard bibliometric indicators such as the growth of publications, authorship patterns, collaboration, and prolific authors, country contribution, most active institutions, preferred journals, and top-cited articles. Based on our findings, there is a continuous growth of publications on melatonin research for 5 years since 2015. China was the largest contributor to melatonin research, followed by the United States. The Journal of Pineal Research published the most number of publications related to melatonin research. Our findings suggest that the role of melatonin in plant and food sciences, as well as in cancer, may in later years take over the clusters that earlier dominated melatonin research.

Purpose– Generalized audit software (GAS) is the tool use by auditors to automate various audit tasks. As most accounting transactions are now computerized, auditing of accounting data is also expected to be computerized as well. While GAS is the most popular of computer assisted audit tools and techniques (CAATTs), research shows that there is little evidence that GAS has been universally adopted by external auditors. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the utilization of GAS by external auditors in the UK. The paper focuses on small and medium‐sized audit firms in the UK whereas most other GAS studies have examined “Big 4” firms. Registered statutory auditors have been selected as a sample.Design/methodology/approach\ud – A framework was developed to identify a range of relevant factors which are important when considering the application of GAS.A web‐based survey has been used to gather the perceptions based on the responses from 205 statutory auditors across the UK. The questions posed to respondents were mapped against the framework.Findings\ud – The research finds that the utilization of GAS is unusually low among audit firms in the UK. About 73 per cent of external auditors make no use of GAS, due to the perceived limited benefit of using GAS for auditing small clients. While some respondents recognized the advantages of GAS, they were put off by what they believed to be high implementation costs; significant learning curve and adoption process; and lack of ease of use – they showed a preference for using traditional manual auditing methods instead.Research limitations/implications – The paper focuses on small and medium‐sized auditors, and as such the results cannot be extrapolated to Big 4 auditors. Consequently, the responses and conclusions are relevant to the use of GAS during audits of smaller and medium‐sized companies which make up the client base of such audit firms. Originality/value – This is one of the few studies that have sought to research the utilization of GAS by the external auditor

Scientific research on honey has grown substantially over the past decades, accumulating more evidence on its role in complementary and alternative medicine. We conducted a bibliometric analysis of honey research from 2011 to 2020 to see the trend of publications in this study area. Based on the keywords used, which are related to honey in the article title, the study retrieved 4,433 documents for further analysis. VOSviewer software was used to create maps based on network data of scientific publications displaying relationships among researchers, countries, and scientific journals. Author keywords were used to explore the co-occurrence of different terms connected to honey research. Results reveal close and strong interconnections between the top authors suggesting a considerable strong research link. The top country researching on honey was the United States, while the top journal was Food Chemistry. In terms of co-occurrence, the top author keywords were “honey”, “antioxidant”, “chemometric”, “Manuka honey” and “antibacterial”. These analyses of the existing work provide a valuable and important reference for researchers and practitioners in honey research communities.

Most of the bibliographical data obtained from any academic database are always messy. Issues such as inconsistencies of data, variations of a similar term, mis
