DDS from São Paulo State University, with an MSc in Oral Medicine and a PhD in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), including a research internship at the University of Sheffield, UK. Board-certified specialist in Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, and Hospital Dentistry by the Brazilian Federal Council of Dentistry. Former Oral Medicine consultant at the São Paulo State Cancer Institute and currently Associate Professor in the Oral Diagnosis Department at UNICAMP. Past General Secretary and current Treasurer of the Brazilian Society of Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology. Fellow of the AAOM, General Secretary of the EAOM, and contributor to the IARC/WHO Handbook of Oral Cancer Prevention. Member of the Editorial Board of OOOO, Associate Editor of Oral Diseases, and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Oral Diagnosis. Currently Visiting Professor at the Department of Oral Medicine, Penn Dental Medicine.
