I am a senior lecturer with a passion for innovative teaching, and collaborative research in solving industry and societal issues. I attained a PhD degree in chemical and materials engineering and backed it by a Master of higher education (first-class honours) in 2022. My teaching covers reactor design engineering, fluid mechanics, and process engineering. Throughout my courses, I aim to present a curriculum incorporating theoretical and practical concepts that encourage students’ critical thinking, active learning, and constructive feedback. My drive for excellence has seen me awarded four Faculty of Engineering Students’ Choice Top Teacher Awards (2019-2022) and Teaching Development Award (2022). My technical research has been focused on thermal energy storage using phase change materials and has resulted in many key publications. As an active member of the Australasian Association for Engineering Education (AAEE), I have committed to supporting an inclusive, collaborative research community in engineering education. Along with my academic career, I have more than ten years of hands-on experience in the aluminium smelting industry as a lead engineer. My industrial experience has elevated me to the professional status of chartered engineer (CEng, MIChemE) from the Institution of Chemical Engineering. The degrees, awards and professional certificates have added a responsibility factor to my experience and inspired me to discover new horizons in my career.
