Dr. Andy P. Tsai studies how immune and systemic signals regulate brain aging, resilience, and vulnerability to neurodegeneration. His research integrates neuroimmunology, lipid metabolism, lysosomal biology, and spatial multi-omics to uncover mechanisms that preserve brain health and identify therapeutic immune pathways in Alzheimer’s disease. He is particularly interested in how genetic resilience variants, such as PLCG2-P522R, reprogram microglial lipid and lysosomal function to promote brain rejuvenation.
