This qualitative research study explores the impact of training and skill development policies and practices on employee performance in the context of private banking in Bangladesh. The study follows a qualitative research design, utilizing purposive sampling to select 50 employees from various job roles and experience levels across different private banks in the country. Data is collected through in-depth interviews, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of employees’ experiences and perspectives regarding the training programs they underwent within the last 12 months. The demographic profile of the respondents highlights the gender, age group, job roles, experience levels, and types of training attended, presenting a diverse representation of the private banking workforce in Bangladesh. The findings reveal that employees generally had positive experiences with the training and skill development initiatives, perceiving them as valuable opportunities for professional growth and enhancing job performance. Participants praised the relevance and diversity of training programs, as well as the supportive learning environment. However, the study also identifies areas for improvement, including the need for more specialized and ongoing training opportunities, clearer career progression pathways, and transparency in the selection criteria. The research underscores the significance of practical application and continuous reinforcement of learned skills to sustain positive impacts on job performance. This study provides valuable insights for private banks in Bangladesh to enhance the effectiveness of their training and skill development policies. By addressing the specific needs and preferences of their employees, banks can foster a highly skilled and motivated workforce, contributing to improved organizational performance and employee satisfaction.

This qualitative study explores the attitudes of customers towards the use of mobile banking applications offered by private banks in Bangladesh. The study aims to investigate perceived usefulness, ease of use, trust and security concerns, and the benefits of using mobile banking applications. Data was collected through interviews with 40 participants, and the findings were analyzed to identify common themes and patterns. The results indicate that the majority of participants perceive mobile banking applications as useful in facilitating their banking transactions and find them easy to use. Participants also express trust in the security measures implemented by the banks. Additionally, customers value the benefits of using mobile banking applications, including convenience, time-saving, and accessibility. These findings align with previous research and highlight the importance of designing user-friendly applications that offer tangible benefits to customers. Trust and security are crucial factors that influence customer adoption and continuance intention towards mobile banking applications. The study emphasizes the need for strong security measures and transparent communication to build customer trust. The practical implications of the findings suggest that private banks should focus on designing user-friendly and secure mobile banking applications. Effective marketing and communication strategies should highlight the convenience and time-saving benefits of using these applications. Addressing technical issues, improving user experience, and strengthening security measures are essential to promote wider adoption and enhance customer satisfaction. It is important to acknowledge the limitations of this study, as the findings are specific to the context of private banks in Bangladesh. Future research should explore customer attitudes in different contexts and include non-users of mobile banking applications to gain a broader understanding of the factors influencing adoption. Alternative data collection methods could also provide more nuanced insights. This study provides valuable insights into the attitudes of customers towards mobile banking applications in the private banking industry of Bangladesh. The findings can inform the design and implementation of mobile banking applications and contribute to the growing body of literature on mobile banking adoption.

Bangladesh, like many other developing countries, faces various environmental challenges such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change, along with social and economic challenges like poverty and low levels of education. College students, being a significant proportion of the youth population, play a crucial role in shaping the future of Bangladesh and promoting sustainable development. However, the relationship between education, emotional intelligence, and sustainable behavior change among college students in Bangladesh remains poorly understood. This qualitative case study aims to investigate this relationship by exploring the perceptions and attitudes of college students towards sustainable behavior change, identifying the factors that influence such change, and examining the role of education and emotional intelligence in this process. Purposive sampling, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions were used for data collection, and thematic analysis was employed for data analysis. The findings reveal that education is a key motivator for sustainable behavior change among college students in Bangladesh, as it raises awareness and knowledge about environmental issues. Emotional intelligence also plays a significant role in sustainable behavior change, as it helps develop empathy, self-awareness, and social skills. The study provides insights into effective strategies for promoting sustainable behavior change among college students in Bangladesh and highlights the need for incorporating education and emotional intelligence in sustainable development initiatives.
