Background: Skin cancer, particularly melanoma, poses significant challenges due to the heterogeneity of skin images and the demand for accurate and interpretable diagnostic systems. Early detection and effective management are crucial for improving patient outcomes. Traditional AI models often struggle with balancing accuracy and interpretability, which are critical for clinical adoption. Methods: The SmartSkin-XAI methodology incorporates a fine-tuned DenseNet121 model combined with XAI techniques to interpret predictions. This approach improves early detection and patient management by offering a transparent decision-making process. The model was evaluated using two datasets: the ISIC dataset and the Kaggle dataset. Performance metrics such as classification accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score were compared against benchmark models, including DenseNet121, InceptionV3, and esNet50. Results: SmartSkin-XAI achieved a classification accuracy of 97% on the ISIC dataset and 98% on the Kaggle dataset. The model demonstrated high stability in precision, recall, and F1 score measures, outperforming the benchmark models. These results underscore the robustness and applicability of SmartSkin-XAI for real-world healthcare scenarios. Conclusions: SmartSkin-XAI addresses critical challenges in melanoma diagnosis by integrating state-of-the-art architecture with XAI methods, providing both accuracy and interpretability. This approach enhances clinical decision-making, fosters trust among healthcare professionals, and represents a significant advancement in incorporating AI-driven diagnostics into medicine, particularly for bedside applications.

Sustainable agriculture holds the key in meeting food production requirements for a rapidly growing population without exacerbating environmental degradation. Plant leaf diseases pose a critical threat to crop yield and quality. Existing inspection methods are labor‐intensive and prone to human errors, while lacking support for large‐scale agriculture. This research aims to enhance plant health by developing advanced deep learning models for the detection and classification of plant diseases across a variety of species. A deep learning model based on the paradigm of the MobileNet architecture is proposed, which employs a dedicated design through deeper convolutional layers, dropout regularization, and fully connected layers. This results in significant improvements in disease classification in tomato, bean, and chili plants, with accuracy rates of 97.90%, 98.12%, and 97.95%, respectively. Moreover, Grad‐CAM is used to shed light on the decision‐making process of the proposed model. The work contributes to the advancement of precision farming and sustainable agricultural practices, supporting timely and accurate plant disease diagnosis.

A new deep-learning model for classifying and detecting plant diseases in chilli plants is described. It is built on a modified version of the MobileNet architecture. The model overcomes conventional diagnostic tools’ high computing costs and restricted adaptability by combining sophisticated optimisation models and reliable training procedures. The model considerably reduces the time and resources needed for an accurate diagnosis while effectively managing complicated illness presentations, with a diagnostic accuracy of 97.18%. Using the chilli leaf picture dataset, data augmentation, and finetuning techniques, the model shows promise for real-time disease diagnosis in agricultural environments. The study underscores the importance of high-quality image data and extensive training datasets, calling for further evaluation across various climatic and environmental conditions to ensure robustness and adaptability. This research opens new opportunities for AI-based models in diverse agricultural contexts, potentially leading to significant advancements in precision farming.

This study presents an enhanced approach to brain tumor segmentation using an optimized U-Net architecture, focusing on MRI scans. Our research proposes an automated solution that utilizes U-Net to accurately differentiate between tumorous and non-tumorous tissues, addressing the challenges of manual segmentation such as time consumption, accuracy, and inter-observer variability. Our approach to accurately segmenting brain tumors utilizes the BraTS 2019 dataset and involves preprocessing steps that normalize image data. We employ a modified U-Net model that stands out for its depth and integration of multi-inception modules. Our evaluation metrics, including an IoU score of 0.8252 and a low-test loss of approximately 7.075e-05, highlight the high precision of our model in segmenting brain tumors. However, limitations arise from dataset specificity and potential class imbalance, suggesting future work should focus on enhancing generalizability and addressing computational efficiency. Deep learning has been shown to have significant potential in enhancing diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning in neuro-oncology. This, in turn, opens new opportunities for further developments in automated medical image analysis.

The rise of online education has changed the way students usually learn by making educational materials easier to get to and creating a global learning community. While online education offers numerous benefits, it is also crucial to acknowledge its certain drawbacks, such as the potential reduction in interaction between students and teachers, which might increase signs of isolation among students and impede opportunities for collaborative learning. Therefore, Student Evaluations of Teaching (SET) play a critical role in identifying areas for improvement from the students' standpoint, thereby promoting constructive communication between students and teachers. This research conducts a comparison among the traditional Educational Data Mining (EDM) techniques to find out the bestperforming classifier for analyzing student evaluations of teaching online. It is accomplished by first extracting the dataset from the student evaluations of teaching at X-University and then applying six different classifiers to the dataset that were extracted. The results demonstrated that Logistic Regression, Naive Bayes, and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) exhibited a notably high level of accuracy compared to other classification techniques. The findings of this research will provide guidance for future researchers in applying a wider range of classification techniques to extensive datasets and in implementing the necessary adjustments to achieve superior results.
