Armand Budzianowski is currently a specialist and head of the X-ray diffraction laboratory at NCBJ. He is currently involved in a wide range of single crystal and powder diffraction crystallography using X-ray or neutron sources. The solution of structures and their refinement from single crystal measurements, sometimes with disorder or twinning, is a current research interest.
He graduated from Adam Mickiewicz University in 2000 in Environmental Chemistry and defended his Ph.D. thesis in 2006. He has experience in sample measurement. He has been successful in qualitative phase identification of powder materials for more than six years. He has also been successful in quantitative powder identification. He has solved and refined several structures based on powder data. He has experience in crystallographic studies of materials under non-ambient conditions such as high pressure (HP), low temperature or high temperature.
He is a member of the Polish Crystallographic Society PTCryst. He was awarded one of the three CCDC poster prizes at the Twentieth Congress and General Assembly of the IUCr, Florence, Italy, 23-31 August 2005.
