Dr. Alexandre dos Santos is a distinguished researcher and a Level 2 Productivity Scholar in Technological Development and Innovative Extension from CNPq. He holds a degree in Forestry Engineering, a Master's in Entomology, and a Ph.D. in Entomology from the Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA), the latter in partnership with the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) in France. Dr. dos Santos also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at UFLA and an MBA in Innovation Management Professional from Steinbeis-Sibe in Germany. Currently, Dr. dos Santos is a professor of Forestry Engineering at the Instituto Federal de Mato Grosso (IFMT). His work focuses on Spatial Statistics, Machine Learning and the Remote Sensing of Insects, using geotechnologies, robotics, satellites, and drones to detect and monitor economically important pests. He is a leading figure in developing innovative technological solutions for phytosanitary problems in commercial forests.
