Aşkın Birgül is an Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering and Vice Chair of the Department of Environmental Engineering at Bursa Technical University, Türkiye. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Engineering from leading Turkish universities, where his graduate research focused on atmospheric pollution, particulate matter, and environmental monitoring. His academic and professional experience spans air quality assessment, industrial emission control, solar photovoltaic performance analysis, environmental risk assessment, and sustainability-oriented engineering solutions. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in high-impact international journals and has actively contributed to national and international research projects supported by TÜBİTAK and other funding bodies. Dr. Birgül serves as a reviewer for several Q1 and Q2 journals in environmental science and engineering and has participated in academic committees related to graduate education and research governance. He is a member of professional environmental engineering associations and continues to supervise graduate and undergraduate research, with a strong emphasis on applied environmental problem-solving and science-based policy support.
