Subject of the study. The article is a literature review dedicated to a personalized approach to medical and preventive measures for chronic periodontitis, considering the diversity of factors contributing to the development and progression of this pathology. The goal of the study is to conduct a descriptive analysis of domestic and foreign literary sources to determine the analysis and structuring of information on the features of modern chronic periodontitis treatment. Methodology. Modern data of Russian and international literature have been studied using scientific library databases such as PubMed, Elibrary, and Cochrane. The literature has been analyzed by sources over the past 9 years based on the following keywords: chronic periodontitis, non-surgical treatment, ultrasound, photodynamic and laser therapy, antimicrobial and antibiotic therapy, phytotherapy. Results. The literature analysis conducted suggests that chronic periodontitis as a highly prevalent condition, is associated with various local and common risk factors. Depending on the risk factors identified, an approach to medical and preventive measures differs and includes both local and general treatments. Conclusions. Many researchers evaluate the effectiveness of using both high-tech and fairly simple, but effective methods of influencing the state of microbiota of periodontal pockets, increasing the activity of factors of local and systemic protection of the patient's organism, means normalizing microcirculation, oxidative stress. The importance of the patient's commitment to cooperation with the attending physician, the need to maintain good oral hygiene and timely visits to the dental clinic for regular preventive sessions in order to prolong the remission phase of chronic periodontitis is emphasized. Thus, the improvement of modern methods of medical and preventive treatment of chronic periodontitis is an important task, while the introduction of products consisting of herbal components and possessing pronounced anti-inflammatory, decongestant and antimicrobial properties, and corresponding methods is especially is especially relevant.

Relevance. Given the high prevalence of temporomandibular disorders and the multiple causes of the disease, specialists assign an important role to the rational diagnosis of temporomandibular disorders.Material and methods. The study included 84 patients aged 21 to 55 years old. Of these, 69 patients were diagnosed with temporomandibular disorders. They formed group 1. The 2nd control group included 15 patients without TMDs (with no complaints of the dentoalveolar system). All patients underwent X-ray diagnosis: cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) 200 x 170 mm of the skull, including the area of C1 and C2 cervical vertebrae in the closed and open mouth position. The study used the Planmeca ProMax® 3D CT scanner.Results. All examined patients with TMDs showed the spinous process deviation angles α from the Y axis (p ≤ 0.001), which indicated 100% involvement of the cervical spine in this pathology. Subgroup A comprised 60.1% of the subjects, where the mean angle in the closed mouth position was 12.90 ± 0.55 degrees, and in the open mouth position, the mean value was 9.2 ± 0.48 degrees, the deviation angle decreased by an average of 3.7 degrees. Subgroup B included 39.9% of the subjects, where the average value was 4.50 ± 0.66 degrees in the closed mouth position and 8.40 ± 0.75 degrees in the open mouth position. The angle of deviation increased by 3.9 degrees.Conclusion. In patients with temporomandibular disorders, the proposed method of CBCT diagnosis (200 x 170) allows detection of the cervical spine (C2 region) pathology by one axial view image in the closed and open mouth position.

Relevance. It is currently relevant to study and compare the effectiveness of the autologous connective tissue grafts and the combination of collagen-based and autologous platelet-rich plasma in the surgical treatment of Miller Class I gingival recessions.Materials and methods. We examined and treated 48 (20 male (41.67%) and 28 female (58.33%)) patients aged from 25 to 40 years with Miller Class I gingival recessions. All gingival recessions were treated surgically using a modified twolayer tunnel technique. The patients were divided into two groups according to the graft type. Group I (24 patients (50%) had a connective tissue graft from the hard palate. Group II (24 patients (50%) used the combination of the autologous platelet-rich plasma and 3D collagen matrix Fibromatrix for the regeneration of oral soft tissues. We removed the sutures on the 14th day. The patients were followed up on the 7th and 14th days and in 1.3 months.Results. 48 Miller Class I gingival recessions were treated between 2018 and 2020. The depth of gingival recessions averaged 3.5 ± 1.13 mm before treatment. The level of the attached keratinized gingiva regarding the cementoenamel junction significantly (p < 0.001) improved in both groups after the surgery. The width and thickness of the keratinized gingiva best increased in group II. The mean effectiveness of gingival recession treatment was 84% in study group I and 96% – in study group II. Pain syndrome, fibrinous plaque and soft tissue edema were insignificant in group II.Conclusion. The combination of the autologous platelet-rich plasma and Fibromatrix, collagen 3D matrix, for the regeneration of the oral soft tissues is a more effective technique for the treatment of Miller Class I gingival recessions. This technique has several advantages. It is minimally invasive, less painful, soft tissue postoperative swelling is less and the received volume of the attached keratinized gums is larger than with a connective tissue graft.
