Tendon tissue engineering based on stem cell differentiation has attracted a great deal of attention in recent years. Previous studies have examined the effect of cell-imprinted polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate on induction differentiation in stem cells. In this study, we used tenocyte morphology as a positive mold to create a tenocyte-imprinted substrate on PDMS. The morphology and topography of this tenocyte replica on PDMS was evaluated with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy. The tenogenic differentiation induction capacity of the tenocyte replica in adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADSCs) was then investigated and compared with other groups, including tissue replica (which was produced similarly to the tenocyte replica and was evaluated by SEM), decellularized tendon, and bone morphogenic protein (BMP)-12, as other potential inducers. This comparison gives us an estimate of the ability of tenocyte-imprinted PDMS (called cell replica in the present study) to induce differentiation compared to other inducers. For this reason, ADSCs were divided into five groups, including control, cell replica, tissue replica, decellularized tendon and BMP-12. ADSCs were seeded on each group separately and investigated by the real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technique after seven and 14 days. Our results showed that in spite of the higher effect of the growth factor on tenogenic differentiation, the cell replica can also induce tenocyte marker expression (scleraxis and tenomodulin) in ADSCs. Moreover, the tenogenic differentiation induction capacity of the cell replica was greater than tissue replica. Immunocytochemistry analysis revealed that ADSCs seeding on the cell replica for 14 days led to scleraxis and tenomodulin expression at the protein level. In addition, immunohistochemistry indicated that contrary to the promising results in vitro , there was little difference between ADSCs cultured on tenocyte-imprinted PDMS and untreated ADSCs. The results of such studies could lead to the production of inexpensive cell culture plates or biomaterials that can induce differentiation in stem cells without growth factors or other supplements.

Background: Women with breast cancer suffer high levels of stress due to their disease-induced emotional, cognitive, behavioral and physical problems which increase their metacognitive beliefs, death anxiety, and rumination, disrupt the treatment process, and exert a negative impact. The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of positive thinking training on perceived stress, metacognitive beliefs, and death anxiety in women with breast cancer in Ahvaz in 2019. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest control group design. Statistical population consisted of all women with breast cancer visiting Shafa Health Center of Ahvaz in 2019, among whom 30 women were selected as the sample using convenience sampling. Cancer patients were randomly divided into intervention (n=15) and control (n=15) groups. The research instruments included the Perceived Stress Scale, the Metacognitions Questionnaire (MCQ-30), and the Scale of Death Anxiety (SDA). Univariate and multivariate analysis of covariance were used to analyze data. Results: Results suggested that positive thinking training reduced perceived stress, metacognitive beliefs and death anxiety in women with breast cancer in the intervention group compared with those in the control group (P<0.001). Conclusion: According to the results of the study, positive thinking training was effective in reducing perceived stress, metacognitive beliefs, and death anxiety in women with breast cancer.

Collagen, a naturally occurring fibrous protein, is a potential resource of biological materials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine because it is structurally biocompatible, has low immunogenicity, is biodegradable, and is biomimetic. Numerous studies have documented in the literature how Collagen nanofibers exhibit limited cell adhesion, poor viscosity, and no interior fibril structure. The biomedical industry is using Poly Glycerol Sebacate prepolymer(PGSp), a biodegradable and biocompatible polyester with high adhesion and very viscous appearance, more often. Here, unique electrospun Collagen/PGSp/ZnO/NPs blend nanofibers for skin tissue application were developed and described with varied PGSp percent. Additionally, when ternary blends of Collagen, PGSp, and Zink Oxide Nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) are used, the antibacterial properties of the scaffolds are improved. The bead-free electrospun nanofibers were produced by raising the PGSp concentration to 30%w/w. SEM, EDS, tensile, MTT, FTIR, SDS-page, swelling test, contact-angle, antimicrobial, biodegradation, XRD, and cell attachment procedures were used to characterize the crosslinked nanofibers. The ternary blend nanofibers with a weight ratio of Collagen/PGSp 30%/ZnONPs 1% had higher stress/strain strength (0.25 mm/mm), porosity (563), cell survival, and degradation time. Moreover, after applying for wound healing in diabetic rats, Collagen/PGSp 30%/could be show improving wound healing significantly compared to other groups.
