The article presents the results of studies on the effect of Prostimul on the immune status of piglets under techno-logical stress caused by their weaning and transferring to an industrial pig-breeding compleх for growing. It was found that the application of the drug was accompanied by an increase in nonspecific humoral and cellular immunity and indicators of protein metabolism during the adaptation of piglets to new conditions of living. This is associated with the presence in the drug composition of recombinant porcine interferons alpha and beta that possess the immune modulating activity, as well as vitamins A, E and C increasing antioxidant and immune status. The results obtained allow us to recommend the drug "Prostimul" for a widespread application in industrial pig breeding during critical periods of rearing piglets to improve the immune status of the animal body.

The article presents the results of studying changes in hematological and biochemical indicators in pregnant sows during different gestation periods on an industrial pig breeding farm. It has been established that more pronounced changes are noted with an increase in the duration of gestation and are manifested by a decrease in the serum content of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, color index (globular value), platelets, albumins, iron, an increase in hematocrit, ESR, globulins to maintain balance in the hemostasis system.

The relevance of this study is due to the need to assess the functioning of the cellular component of the immune system in dynamics in sows before insemination, during periods of gestation and lactation in the norm and in the event of postpartum pathology. The purpose of the research is to study cellular immunity in sows in different physiological conditions. The article presents the results of a study of cellular immunity in sows before insemination, during periods of gestation and lactation in normal and postpartum pathology in an industrial pigbreeding complex. Cellular immunity indicators were determined in the blood: T- and Blymphocytes, theophylline-resistant (Ttfr), theophylline-sensitive (Ttfh) lymphocytes and their ratio (Ttfr/Ttfh) in accordance with the "Methodological recommendations for assessing and correcting the immune status of animals" .Statistical processing of the obtained data was carried out using the program Statistica v6.1, reliability assessment - Student's test. It has been established that before insemination, diseased animals have reduced cellular adaptive immunity compared to clinically healthy sows. With the onset of gestation (37-39 days), sows of both groups showed suppression of cellular immunity, which is necessary to ensure the tolerance of the mother's body to fetal alloantigens, the normal course of pregnancy and fetal development, which was more significant in diseased animals. In the second half of gestation (78-80 days), the marked increase in cellular adaptive immunity in sows of both groups is associated with the effect of antigens of the administered vaccines, which was more pronounced in clinically healthy animals. During lactation, the cellular immune response to the administered vaccines in diseased sows was also less significant.

Specific prevention is one of the most effective methods for the control of infectious diseases causing considerable economic damage to commercial pig farms, among which is porcine pleuropneumonia. In order to improve the effectiveness of preventive vaccination, various immunomodulators that differ in their origin and mechanism of action are used. The paper presents the results of the study of the effect of such products as biferon-S and prostimul containing species-specific recombinant interferons on the immune status of piglets during specific prevention of porcine pleuropneumonia. Tests were carried out in clinically healthy 30–35-day-old piglets immunized with Ingelvac® APPX vaccine (Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica GmbH, Germany). It was found that the use of biferon-S and prostimul together with the vaccine administration is accompanied by immune status improvement in the animals, which is manifested as an increase, in comparison with vaccinated animals that received no interferon-containing products (base case), in serum levels of γ-globulins – by 34.6 and 53.7% (in case of prostimul and β-globulins – by 10.1%), total immunoglobulins – by 32.8 and 37.8%, large circulating immune complexes – by 37.5 and 52.6%, a less significant increase in the levels of small complexes and, as a result, pathogenicity coefficient reduction by 5.4 and 12.4%, respectively. Tests for post-vaccination immunity levels in piglets showed a 3.8-fold increase in the levels of specific antibodies against the antigen of porcine pleuropneumonia agent, and in case of the vaccine administration in combination with biferon-S and prostimul – a 4.0-fold and 4.9-fold increase, respectively. The use of prostimul was accompanied by a more considerable improvement of immune status in the piglets, and this is attributable to the fact that vitamins А, Е and С, which have antioxidant properties and improve the effectiveness of interferons, natural resistance and specific immunity, are included in its composition in addition to recombinant type 1 cytokine.
