An environmentally friendly, versatile multicomponent reaction for synthesizing isoxazol-5-one and pyrazol-3-one derivatives has been developed, utilizing a freshly prepared g-C3N4·OH nanocomposite as a highly efficient catalyst at room temperature in aqueous environment. This innovative approach yielded all the desired products with exceptionally high yields and concise reaction durations. The catalyst was well characterized by FT-IR, XRD, SEM, EDAX, and TGA/DTA studies. Notably, the catalyst demonstrated outstanding recyclability, maintaining its catalytic efficacy over six consecutive cycles without any loss. The sustainability of this methodology was assessed through various eco-friendly parameters, including E-factor and eco-score, confirming its viability as a green synthetic route in organic chemistry. Additionally, the gram-scale synthesis verifies its potential for industrial applications. The ten synthesized compounds were also analyzed via a PASS online tool to check their several pharmacological activities. The study is complemented by in silico molecular docking, pharmacokinetics, and molecular dynamics simulation studies. These studies discover 5D as a potential candidate for drug development, supported by its favorable drug-like properties, ADMET studies, docking interaction, and stable behavior in the protein binding cavity.

Biowaste-derived carbon quantum dots (CQDs) have emerged as sustainable, low-cost nanomaterials that align with the principles of green chemistry and promote waste-to-wealth conversion.
A green synthetic protocol for the synthesis of benzopyrans has been developed using biomass-derived CQDs obtained from Butea monosperma bark. A diverse library of 17 benzopyrans was synthesized in high yields within 10–35 min at RT.

The primary benefit of a sustained release dosage form compared to a conventional dosage form, is the consistent drug plasma concentration and consequently uniform therapeutic effect. Matrix system are preferential because of their ease, patient compliance etc, than traditional drug delivery which have several drawbacks like reiterated administration, variation in blood concentration level etc. The aim of the present research study was to develop and evaluate sustained release matrix tablets of furosemide using direct compression method using natural gummy and waxy materials (Xanthan gum, bees wax) and synthetic polymers (HPMC K4M). The matrix tablet formulations were prepared by using different drug: polymer ratios (1:1, 1:2 and 1:3). All formulations were assessed using micromeritics studies of powder blend and diverse physicochemical tests. All the physicochemical characters of the formulated tablets were within acceptable limits. The release pattern of the drug was viewed over a period of 12 hours and determined the amount of drug by the UV-Visible spectroscopic method. Dissolution data demonstrated that the formulated tablets with Xanthan gum and hydroxyl propyl methylcellulose (HPMC) provided sustained release of the drug up to 12 hrs. Therefore inexpensively it may be appropriate for the pharmaceutical industries to employ this kind of simple technologies for the expansion of advanced formulations. Hence, we conclude that the purpose of this study was to formulate a sustained release matrix tablet of furosemide using diverse polymers and their dissimilar proportions have been attained.
