Dr. Bander holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), with a focus on malware analysis using AI. Currently, he is a senior lecturer in cybersecurity at the School of Computing, University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. He also worked as a senior lecturer with UTM, Malaysia, Unitar International University, Malaysia, and as a Lecturer at Coventry University, Cairo branch. Dr Bander possesses strong technical skills, including an in-depth knowledge of tools and techniques for malware analysis, penetration testing, computer forensics, networking, and programming. With over five years of academic teaching experience and 12 years in industry, Dr Bander has developed the skill of bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. His approach not only enriches the learning experience but also equips students with practical insights into industry challenges. He is also an active researcher in various areas of cybersecurity and computer science. He thrives in collaborative research and genuinely enjoys teamwork. His research interest revolves around applying AI and analytical techniques to cybersecurity. He has published many papers in top-tier journals and successfully secured several research grants and funding. He is also an editor for the IJIC journal and a committee member in several conferences. As an academician, he is dedicated to advancing research and education, as well as developing solutions to secure cyberspace.
