Giacomo Bergami is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Game Technology at Newcastle University, and is the head of the LOGic for Data Science (LogDS) group. He advocates that Logic should be used as a main driving force for Data Science to obtain verified and explainable artificial intelligence. He received a PhD degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, in 2018. He has designed algorithms for big data solutions that outperform relational, document-oriented, and graph databases. His research interests span from microservice orchestration to data integration, with interests in verified and explainable artificial intelligence that are contextualised over NLP and temporal data.
