Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Atılgan Acar is a faculty member in the Department of Neurology at Sakarya University Faculty of Medicine and currently serves as the Director of the Sakarya Regional Comprehensive Stroke Center. His main clinical and academic interests include acute ischemic stroke, interventional neurology, mechanical thrombectomy, cerebrovascular diseases, and neurocritical care. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and completed his neurology residency at Ankara Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Training and Research Hospital. He subsequently received advanced training in stroke and neurocritical care at Hacettepe University and in interventional neurology at Eskişehir Osmangazi University. He has also served as a member of the Executive Board of the Turkish Cerebrovascular Diseases Society (TBDH). His research focuses on endovascular stroke treatment, the impact of vascular anatomy on neurointerventional procedures, and predictors of clinical and procedural outcomes. Through the integration of clinical practice, scientific research, and medical education, he aims to contribute to the advancement of stroke care and interventional neurology.
