This paper investigates the relationship between the tracking performance and coupling effect for attitude tracking issue of hypersonic reentry vehicle (HRV), and proposes a performance-involved coupling effect-triggered robust control (PICETC) scheme. The main feature of the paper lies in that the influence of the coupling effect on the performance is discussed via a defined performance-involved coupling effect indicator. Consequently, the proposed control ensures the transient performance within the prescribed limitation in all phases, and the better transient performance is achieved with the help of the sliding mode control and disturbance observer technique enhancing the robustness. Comparison simulations and Monte-Carlo tests under coefficients perturbation on the HRV system demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

This paper investigates a novel three-dimensional (3D) integrated guidance and control (IGC) method for skid-to-turn (STT) missiles with strap-down seeker. Firstly, a nonlinear IGC model considering seeker’s field-of-view (FOV) constraint is built by employing the strap-down decoupling model, based on which the strict feedback state equation with matched and unmatched uncertainties is derived. Secondly, to handle the FOV angle and the roll angle constraints, an IGC law is proposed by combining dynamic surface control (DSC) approach with integral barrier Lyapunov function (iBLF), by which an adaptive law is employed to estimate the square of the disturbance bound. Finally, the uniform ultimately boundedness of the closed-loop system is proved strictly based on the Lyapunov stability theory, and the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed IGC scheme are illustrated with numerical simulations.

The problem of the integrated guidance and control (IGC) design for strap-down missile with the field-of-view (FOV) constraint is solved by using the integral barrier Lyapunov function (iBLF) and the sliding mode control theory. Firstly, the nonlinear and uncertainty state equation with non-strict feedback form for IGC design is derived by using the strap-down decoupling strategy. Secondly, a novel adaptive finite time disturbance observer is proposed to estimate the uncertainties based on an improved adaptive gain super twisting algorithm. Thirdly, the special time-varying sliding variable is designed and the iBLF is employed to handle the problem of FOV constraint. Theoretical derivation and simulation show that the IGC system is globally uniformly ultimately bounded and the FOV angle constraint is also guaranteed not only during the reaching phase but also during the sliding mode phase.

A novel integrated guidance and control scheme is derived for STT missile with strict constraints as desired impact angle, input saturation, and partial system state in three- dimensional space. The backstepping technique and command filter are adopted for achieving input constraints, and the improved compensation signals are constructed to correct tracking errors. The integral barrier Lyapunov function is introduced to prevent the partial system states from exceeding a predefined interval. A modified extended state observer is employed to strengthen the robustness of the system further. Theoretically, the required properties of a closed-form system are proved by Lyapunov theory in detail. Numerical simulations are conducted to exhibit the performance and robustness of the IGC scheme fully.

A finite-time integrated guidance and control (IGC) method is proposed in this study for hypersonic vehicles. The IGC dynamic model is initially built by combining the 3D relative kinematics and dynamics equations. Then, by introducing the adaptive control technology and the backstepping approach, an IGC scheme with adaptive parameters is presented to guarantee the finite-time stability of a closed-loop control system on the basis of Lyapunov stability theory. Nonlinear simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed IGC method for hypersonic vehicles compared with other robust IGC methods.

A smooth guidance law for intercepting a maneuvering target with impact angle constraints is documented based on the nonsingular fast terminal sliding mode control scheme and adaptive control scheme. Different from the traditional adaptive law which is used to estimate the unknown upper bound of the target acceleration, a new adaptive law is proposed to estimate the square of target acceleration bound, which avoids the use of the nonsmooth signum function and therefore ensures the smoothness of the guidance law. The finite time convergence of the guidance system is guaranteed based on the Lyapunov method and the finite time theory. Simulation results indicate that under the proposed guidance law the missile can intercept the target with a better accuracy at a desired impact angle in a shorter time with a completely smooth guidance command compared with the existing adaptive fast terminal sliding mode guidance laws, which shows the superiority of this method.
