Biography

I completed my PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering (14 May 2025) at the University of Aveiro. Additionally, I have a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from the same university. In the last 6 years, I have been a research fellow at the Group of Emissions, Modelling and Climate Change (GEMAC) in the Department of Environment and Planning, one of the labs of the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM) Associate Laboratory, at the University of Aveiro. During my time in GEMAC, I had the opportunity to participate in 2 International research projects – UNALAB, and DISTENDER – and in 5 national research projects – FUTURAR, GENESIS, OPTWIRE, BigAir, FIRESMOKE – while also contributing to other research activities within the group (several consulting activities, project proposals, and talks). My primary responsibilities in these projects include applying air quality modelling systems, processing and analysing data from regional to micro-scale, and providing project management support. I have experience working with different dataset formats (e.g. NetCDF, GRIB, CSV and Json), GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS), and origins (such as monitoring networks, models, remote sensing products, emissions inventories or datasets provided by companies). Additionally, I am used to working with large datasets and using programming languages for data analysis and visualisation (Python, Fortran, MATLAB, Bash). These skills give me confidence that I can adapt and wor
