Prof. Carlos García-Delgado is a Permanent Professor at the Department of Geology and Geochemistry, Autonomous University of Madrid. From 2017 to 2018, he was a Juan de la Cierva Research Fellow at the Institute of Natural Resources and Agrobiology of Salamanca (IRNASA-CSIC), Salamanca, Spain. In 2009–2017, he worked as a Ph.D. Fellow, and then as an Assistant at the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Food Sciences, Autonomous University of Madrid. His research interests include remediation of soil and wastewater affected by organic contaminants such as antibiotics polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heavy metals; bioremediation of soil by ligninolytic fungi and enzymes or phytoremediation; the role of organic amendments of pollution dynamics in soil; the interaction of organic matter and pollutants; and re-use of organic wastes to remediate polluted soils.
