Liang Chen is an Associate Professor at the School of Mathematics, Hunan University. He joined the university as an Assistant Professor in September 2017 and was promoted to his current position in January 2022. He also served as a Research Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the National University of Singapore in 2017. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Applied Mathematics at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from late 2017 to 2019. His primary research interests include convex optimization, optimization algorithms, and convex analysis, with a focus on theoretical analysis and algorithmic implementation for mathematical programming problems such as second-order cone programming, nonlinear semidefinite programming, and dynamic optimal transport. His academic research has been published in journals such as SIAM Journal on Optimization, Mathematical Programming, and Mathematics of Operations Research.
