Sebastian Huerta was born and raised in Mexico City, where he graduated with BSc, 2017 (Pharmaceutical Biological Chemistry) and MSc, 2020 (Chemical Sciences) from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).  The topics of his theses are the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of new benzimidazole benzenesulfonamides targeting Chagas disease and thieno[2,3-b]pyridine derivatives as anticancer agents, respectively, and the results were presented in an ACS meeting and symposiums in Mexico.  As a visiting graduate student he spent 4 months at University of Alberta, Canada in 2019. Sebastian loves chemistry education and science communication with experience of tutoring/teaching undergraduate students in Organic Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry
