Davide Porrelli is a microscopy technician at the Interdepartmental Centre for Advanced Microscopy at the University of Trieste. He graduated in Medical Biotechnology in 2012 and discussed his PhD thesis in Nanotechnologies in 2016. From 2016 to 2022 he was employed as a post-doc researcher in the research laboratories of the Dental Clinic of Maggiore Hospital in Trieste, for the Department of Medical Sciences. During his PhD and the post-doc he worked on the synthesis and characterization of polysaccharide-based biomaterials, for bone tissue engineering, wound healing and ureter tissue engineering, publishing his research in several highly impacted journals. Moreover, he collaborated extensively with the clinicians in several projects regarding dental materials, dental procedures and diagnostic imaging. He is currently working with electron microscopies, in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating in several projects which require this type of characterization. He is a member of the Italian Society for Microscopical Sciences and of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society.
