Biography

The focus of my research is on numerical methods for the simulation of seismic waves. I have studied the stability and grid dispersion of the Spectral Element Method, Interior Penalty Discontinuous Galerkin Method, Enriched Galerkin Method, and Staggered Grid Finite Difference Method. My current research is the incorporation of fractures in wave propagation simulations and the behavior of various methods in the presence of a fluid-solid interface. I designed a software to simulate acoustic and elastic wave propagation using different numerical methods for space and time discretization. These methods are parallelized using OpenMP and MPI. I'm in charge of the Earth Sciences Supercomputing and the Rock Physical Properties laboratories at CICESE.
