Daniel E. Noyola was born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, in 1968. He received his M.D. and Ph.D.
degrees from the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP). He carried out a pediatric residency at the University of Connecticut and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in pediatric infectious
diseases at Baylor College of Medicine. Since 2000, he has been working at the Microbiology
Department, Medical Faculty, UASLP, where he is a Professor and a Researcher. He is currently Director at the Research Center in Health Sciences and Biomedicine (UASLP). He is the author/co-author of more than 95 publications in the international literature. His research interests focus on viral infections, with a special emphasis on respiratory viruses (including respiratory syncytial virus, influenza, and coronavirus) as well as cytomegalovirus.
