Dr. Pedro J. Martinez-Ferrer received two engineering degrees in aeronautical engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM, Spain) and Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d’Aérotechnique (ENSMA, France) in 2010 and a PhD at ENSMA in 2013. Pedro’s scientific trajectory encompasses several disciplines, from applied mathematics to mechanics, oil & gas, naval and aeronautical engineering as well as computer science. His main research line can be summarised as the "research, development and application of high-performance computing algorithms to engineering problems" and has been consolidated through several positions at different institutions across Europe: SINTEF Energi AS (Norway, 2010), Institut PPRIME (France, 2010-2013), Manchester Metropolitan University (United Kingdom, 2014-2016), Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (Spain, 2017-2020), and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain, 2021-2025). During that period I have produced tens of peer-reviewed articles, international conference proceedings, seminars as well as invited talks in the context of several competitive international, national, and regional research projects. I was awarded the European Commission Seal of Excellence for my research proposal “DefFLECt” on domain-specific languages and the Ramón y Cajal research fellowship in Spain.
