There are many different varieties of clouds, each with a unique set of properties. As a result of this variability, it is difficult to discern these sorts of clouds. A database’s objects must be categorized using data categorization in order to be organized into multiple categories. This study made use of the Cirrus Cumulus Stratus Nimbus (CCSN) dataset, which falls under the low cloud category and includes photos of Cumulus (182 images), and Cumulonimbus (242 photographs), and Stratus (242 images) (202 images). A fast R-CNN detector with feature extraction = Resnet50 was used to create a system for classifying cloud kinds. A significant amount of training time is saved by the quicker R-CNN due to its lack of a selective search algorithm. Training loss values for cloud images had an average of 0.9030 from the first epoch through the last one. Using the Faster R-CNN object detection method with the Resnet50 architecture, cloud photos were added and the accuracy was 94.12 and the average precision was 0.76. - Faster R-advantages CNN affect the architecture utilized and are marginally influenced by the algorithm choice, however CNN with Resnet50 is superior overall where these advantages are held.

Virtual learning environment is becoming an increasingly popular studyoption for students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgroundsaround the world. Although this learning environment is quite adaptable, improving student performance is difficult due to the online-only learningmethod. Therefore, it is essential to investigate students' participation andperformance in virtual learning in order to improve their performance. Usinga publicly available Open University learning analytics dataset, this studyexamines a variety of machine learning-based prediction algorithms todetermine the best method for predicting students' academic success, henceproviding additional alternatives for enhancing their academic achievement.Support vector machine, random forest, Nave Bayes, logical regression, anddecision trees are employed for the purpose of prediction using machinelearning methods. It is noticed that the random forest and logistic regressionapproach predict student performance with the highest average accuracyvalues compared to the alternatives. In a number of instances, the supportvector machine has been seen to outperform the other methods.

A distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack is where one or more computers attack or target a server computer, by flooding internet traffic to the server. As a result, the server cannot be accessed by legitimate users. A result of this attack causes enormous losses for a company because it can reduce the level of user trust, and reduce the company’s reputation to lose customers due to downtime. One of the services at the application layer that can be accessed by users is a web-based lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) service that can provide safe and easy services to access directory applications. We used a deep learning approach to detect DDoS attacks on the CICDDoS 2019 dataset on a complex computer network at the application layer to get fast and accurate results for dealing with unbalanced data. Based on the results obtained, it is observed that DDoS attack detection using a deep learning approach on imbalanced data performs better when implemented using synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) method for binary classes. On the other hand, the proposed deep learning approach performs better for detecting DDoS attacks in multiclass when implemented using the adaptive synthetic (ADASYN) method.

Accurate prediction of student performance is crucial in learning analytics to prevent course failures and improve academic outcomes. However, publicly accessible educational data often contains noise and imbalanced data distributions, requiring effective handling techniques. In this study, we propose a novel approach that combines the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) with Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Feed-Forward Neural Network (FFNN) models for performance prediction in virtual learning environments (VLEs). Our experimental results show that utilizing the SMOTE technique significantly improves the accuracy of predicting student withdrawals, with the LSTM model achieving the highest accuracy of 94.90% in the 25th week of data testing. These findings indicate the effectiveness of the SMOTE technique in addressing data imbalance issues in VLE datasets and the potential of our pro- posed deep learning models in accurately predicting student performance. The implications of our study are significant for learning analytics and educational institutions, as accurate prediction of student performance can inform early interventions and personalized support. Future research could explore the generalizability of our approach in diverse educational contexts and the integration of additional features for further improving prediction accuracy. Hence, our study con- tributes to the field of learning analytics by proposing a novel approach that com- bines SMOTE with deep learning models for student performance prediction in VLEs. Our findings highlight the potential of our approach in addressing data imbalance challenges and accurately predicting student performance, with implications for enhancing student success in educational settings.

A virtual learning environment (VLE) is an online learning platform that allows many students, even millions, to study according to their interests without being limited by space and time. Online learning environments have many benefits, but they also have some drawbacks, such as high dropout rates, low engagement, and students' self-regulated behavior. Evaluating and analyzing the students' data generated from online learning platforms can help instructors to understand and monitor students learning progress. In this study, we suggest a predictive model for assessing student success in online learning. We investigate the effect of hyperparameters on the prediction of student learning outcomes in VLEs by the long short-term memory (LSTM) model. A hyperparameter is a parameter that has an impact on prediction results. Two optimization algorithms, adaptive moment estimation (Adam) and Nesterov-accelerated adaptive moment estimation (Nadam), were used to modify the LSTM model's hyperparameters. Based on the findings of research done on the optimization of the LSTM model using the Adam and Nadam algorithm. The average accuracy of the LSTM model using Nadam optimization is 89%, with a maximum accuracy of 93%. The LSTM model with Nadam optimisation performs better than the model with Adam optimisation when predicting students in online learning.
