Information

Over the past 7 years, I have devoted myself to the study of cardiovascular health as well as the disease process development (atherosclerosis, stroke and myocardial infarction) with particular emphasis to the molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular immunity and regeneration. For my PhD, I was awarded with Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher fellowship, ITN EU-FP7, to carry out my PhD at Imperial College London. During my PhD (2012-2015), I embarked on a project investigating novel gene-based therapeutic approaches to achieve functional recovery of the heart. Upon completion of my PhD, the opportunity of becoming a Medical Doctor while carrying out research presented to myself. Consequently, I enrolled into a 4-year Medical program at the Medical University of Silesia in Poland and started a new researcher post at the Biochemistry Department. Since 2019, I am a clinical researcher in the Department of Cardiology at the Barzilai Medical Center. Currently, I hold a more senior responsibilities, including the design and development of research projects, task management, and coordination with the physicians and medical personnel to guarantee adequate patient data acquisition, scientific writing and review, statistical analysis (e.g.: SPSS, GraphPad), manuscript preparation and submission. Purposely, I have acquired a unique ‘translational research profile’ embracing both basic and clinical knowledge in order to understand health to treat diseases.
