Career history: Dr. Kohlman Rabbani is a Full Professor with tenure in the Civil Engineering Program and Coordinator of the Safe and Sustainable Development Research Group (DESS) at the University of Pernambuco. She is also the General Manager of Higher Education at the Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation for the State of Pernambuco. She has worked as a Visiting Scientist at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (IIT), the University of Kansas (KU), and Colorado State University (CSU). She completed her postdoctoral studies at the University of Minho. She has also worked as a professor at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) and as a traffic engineer at Midwest Research Institute (MRI). Research interests: Sustainability applied to construction; innovation and extension strategies for higher education; service-based learning; and transportation safety and planning.
