Eva Papastergiadou is a Professor at the Department of Biology, University of Patras, Greece, with expertise in the ecology of aquatic macrophytes. Coordinator of the Greek National “Natura 2000” program for implementing the EU Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC in Greece. Expertise in ecosystem-scale dynamics in freshwaters, involved in many monitoring projects on the conservation, management plans of protected areas, rehabilitation, and restoration of wetlands. Expertise in developing aquatic macrophyte indices to implement Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EE) in lakes, rivers, coastal and transitional waters.
