Ricardo António da Silva Faria (Faria, R.A.S.) is an Assistant Researcher at INIAV. Faria, RAS, holds a PhD (Nov. 2019) and a Master's degree (Feb. 2016) in Genetics and Animal Breeding from the Faculty of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences (FCAV) at the Jaboticabal Campus of UNESP, São Paulo, Brazil. He holds a degree in Equine Science (Oct. 2013) from the Agricultural School of Elvas, Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, Portugal. He founded Hi-Tech Equine (April 2022) and was a researcher in animal production (until September 2025), working in the areas of Genetics, Breeding, and Reproduction, applying new methodologies/technologies to collect data on farm animals, and exercise physiology in horses. He acquired skills as a researcher and higher education professor in the areas of Animal Production. He demonstrates the ability to develop and create innovative strategies and technologies in evaluation, genetic selection, and animal husbandry. He continually stays up-to-date on advances in genetics and their impacts on animal breeding. He has experience in preparing research projects, scientific experimentation, confinement management, and applying genetic analysis, statistical, and probability software. He also studies the genetic and environmental effects on the expression of economic traits (conservation, production, morphology, physiology, and behavior). He prepares and applies advanced statistical models for data analysis in genetic breeding. He also develops and adapt
