Federico Franco earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry and Material Sciences in 2016 at the University of Turin under the supervision of Prof. Roberto Gobetto with a thesis on molecular systems for the electro- and photocatalytic conversion of carbon dioxide. After Ph.D., he moved to the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in the group of Prof. Julio Lloret-Fillol, where he focused on the mechanistic understanding of molecular catalysts for the electro- and photochemical activation of small molecules. In 2019, he joined the group of Prof. Beatriz Roldan-Cuenya at the Fritz-Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society (Department of Interface Science), where he studied heterogeneous electrocatalysts for energy conversion processes. In 2021 he joined the group of Prof. Emilio Palomares-Gil at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ), where he is currently working as postdoctoral researcher on the development and investigation of novel catalysts for electrocatalytic applications.
