Prof. Dr. Floriano Paes Silva Jr is a full researcher and an
expert in Bioorganic Chemistry and Structural Molecular Biology at Oswaldo Cruz
Foundation—FIOCRUZ. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Federal Univesity of
Rio de Janeiro in 2005. He has successfully developed a project aiming at the
development of a new high-content imaging platform for screening drugs against
helminth parasites. He is the head of the Laboratory of Experimental and
Computational Biochemistry of Drugs, which is a certified laboratory associated
with the National Science and Technology Institute of Drugs and Medicines
(INCT-Inofar). In addition, he is a member of the International Society for
Computational Biology, the Brazilian Chemical Society (SBQ) and the Brazilian
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Society (SBBq).
