Prof. Dr. Francisco J. G. Silva

Francisco J. G. Silva is an Associate Professor with Habilitation. He was the Director of the MSc. in Mechanical Engineering (2014-2022). He was Deputy Director of the Mechanical Engineering Department from 2014 to 2016. He was Director of the Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from 2003 to 2006 at ESEIG, Vila do Conde, Portugal. He is author of the book "Tecnologia da Soldadura - Uma Abordagem Técnico-Didáctica” (2016), Coordinator and Co-Author of the book “Impressão 3D – Tecnologias, Materiais, Aplicações” (2023), and co-author of the book "Cleaner Production - Toward a Better Future", Springer Nature, 2020, sole author of the book “Green Automation” to be published in May of 2024 by CRC Press, among more than 16 international books. He is a co-author of more than 300 scientific papers in indexed journals He has conducted more than 25 Special Issues in MDPI scientific journals and others. He founded and was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Coating Science Technology (LifeScience Global). He was awarded the MDPI TOP REVIEWER in 2018 and the METALS TOP REVIEWER in 2019. One of his papers was awarded with the Best Paper Award of COATINGS (MDPI, 2019).
