Dr. in Biomedical Sciences (Pharmacology): Gil Alfonso Magos Guerrero. Mexican nationality. Date of birth: 09-01-1956. Surgeon graduated in 1982 from the Faculty of Medicine, UNAM. Master in Biomedical Sciences (1986). PhD in Biomedical Sciences (2000). Awarded with Honorable Mention. Magos-Guerrero began his teaching career in 1979 as a professor's assistant in the Department of Pharmacology of the Faculty of Medicine Campus Ciudad Universitaria, later obtaining the appointment of Professor Subject "A" by competitive examination and, by competitive examination, the appointment of Associate Professor "C" Definitive Full Time, with promotion to the current appointment of Professor "A" TC. In 2013, its optional subject proposal entitled "Scientific evidence of some plants used for medicinal purposes" was approved by the Technical Council of this Faculty of Medicine. With Dr. Ricardo Reyes Chilpa, a researcher at the Institute of Chemistry, for 18 years, Magos-Guerrero designed and taught a postgraduate course on Biological Sciences in the Faculty of Sciences at the UNAM: the optional subject "Chemistry and Pharmacology of Medicinal Plants", a subject that has been the line of his experimental research. In January 2019, he completed 40 years of teaching work at the Faculty of Medicine, UNAM. For two periods, he was appointed Technical Advisor by the Faculty of Medicine at UNAM. He served as Head of the Pharmacology Department from 2013 to 2019.
