Dr. Gianmarco Tavilla is a research fellow at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy). He completed his PhD studies in March 2024 at the University of Catania and has been awarded at the national level with the additional qualification of Doctor Europaeus. He has published over 60 papers in various journals and holds editorial roles in international scientific journals. He is currently a member of the following scientific societies: the Società Botanica Italiana (SBI), the Società Italiana Scienza della Vegetazione (SISV), the International Association for Vegetation Science (IAVS), and the International Association for Plant Taxonomy (IAPT). His interests include vegetation ecology, invasive alien species, plant conservation, phytosociology, plant taxonomy, floristic studies, botanical nomenclature, GIS, remote sensing, and habitat monitoring.
