Biography

I obtained my Master's degree in Agriculture Science (Specialisation Genetics and Breeding) at the University of Western Australia in December 2020 after finishing my thesis under Professor Kadambot H.M. Siddique (Hackett Professor of Agriculture Chair and Director of The UWA Institute of Agriculture) and Dr. Yinglong Chen supervision. My Master's research was investigating the shoot and root growth of castor bean, an in-demand oilseed crop, in response to soil salinity stress. Three months after graduation, I accepted a PhD position funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Grant in the ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Energy Biology at the University of Western Australia in the group of Professor Ian Small. The focus of my PhD research is to develop strong restorer-of-fertility genes for hybrid wheat breeding. My supervisors are Professor Ian Small and Dr. Joanna Melonek.
