Giovanni Canu is a post-doctoral researcher at University College London. He completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge in the lab of Prof. Ludovic Vallier. During his scientific training, he took advantage of genetic lineage tracing, high-resolution microscopy, flow cytometry, and single-cell transcriptomics to study early vascular and blood progenitors in both mouse and human models. His research interests centre around stem cell and developmental biology, with a particular focus on endothelial and haematopoietic embryonic development in vivo and methods to derive these cells in vitro from human pluripotent stem cells.
