Giovana Bertini, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Vale do Ribeira (FCAVR), São Paulo State University (UNESP), Campus of Registro, Brazil. She coordinates the LABCRUST research group (Laboratory of Biology and Culture of Crustaceans), which focuses on the biology, ecology, and population dynamics of freshwater shrimps, aiming to develop technologies for the cultivation of economically important species. Her research interests include biodiversity assessment and ecotoxicology, with emphasis on the effects of chemical compounds on native shrimp species, and environmental monitoring of aquatic ecosystems.
