Prof. Giuseppe Palmieri is a Medical Oncologist, a Full Professor of Medical Oncology at University of Sassari, and Head of the Unit of Cancer Genetics at the CNR of Sassari. He has been the Research Director of the National Research Council (CNR) and Head of the Sassari Branch of the Institute of Genetic and Biomedical Research (IRGB-CNR), Sassari, Italy. He gained a National-based Scientific Professional Qualification as a University Full Professor in Medical Genetics. Prof. Palmieri is focusing his research activity on cancer genetics as well as on translational medicine and molecular diagnosis in oncology. He served as President of the Italian Melanoma Intergroup/IMI (2017–2019). He is the author of >250 publications in indexed Journals, and several book chapters or monographs. He was invited as speaker-chairman at >200 national and international events (congresses, workshops, meetings, courses) in the past ten years.
