Biography

Dr. Hao Wang is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Monash University. He received his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Sydney in 2023. With a strong background in physical metallurgy and electron microscopy, his research integrates advanced manufacturing technologies, state-of-the-art characterization, and mechanical testing to uncover processing–microstructure–property relationships. His current projects focus on developing highly formable magnesium alloys for high-speed rolling and extrusion, and optimizing additive manufacturing parameters to produce metallic components with tailored mechanical performance. Dr. Wang has authored over 20 high-quality publications in leading journals, including Nature, Materials Today, Science Advances, Acta Materialia, Corrosion Science, and Materials Research Letters. As first or corresponding author on seven papers, his work has received over 1200 citations, and an overall FWCI of 4.20. Dr. Wang’s achievements have been recognised with several awards, including the PhD Completion Award (2022, USYD), the IFSM Young Scientist Assembly Award (2023, recognising the top 50 young microscopists worldwide), and the prestigious Cowley-Moodie Award (2023), distinguishing him as Australia’s leading young researcher in the physical sciences over the past three years.
