Hugo A. S. Pinto holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Universidade Politécnica da Guarda (UPG), Portugal, and an integrated member of the GeoBioTec research unit at UBI, where he also serves as Secretary of the Scientific Council. His research interests include construction materials, structural engineering, building physics, energy efficiency in buildings, computational geomechanics, soil–structure interaction, and Building Information Modelling (BIM). His scientific work focuses on advancing engineering knowledge and promoting innovative, durable, and sustainable solutions for the built environment. He has contributed to research publications in civil engineering and construction materials and is involved in scientific research, academic teaching, and peer review for international scientific journals.
