Skin cancer is one of the most dangerous forms of cancer. Skin cancer is caused by un-repaired deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in skin cells, which generate genetic defects or mutations on the skin. Skin cancer tends to gradually spread over other body parts, so it is more curable in initial stages, which is why it is best detected at early stages. The increasing rate of skin cancer cases, high mortality rate, and expensive medical treatment require that its symptoms be diagnosed early. Considering the seriousness of these issues, researchers have developed various early detection techniques for skin cancer. Lesion parameters such as symmetry, color, size, shape, etc. are used to detect skin cancer and to distinguish benign skin cancer from melanoma. This paper presents a detailed systematic review of deep learning techniques for the early detection of skin cancer. Research papers published in well-reputed journals, relevant to the topic of skin cancer diagnosis, were analyzed. Research findings are presented in tools, graphs, tables, techniques, and frameworks for better understanding.

People can use credit cards for online transactions as it provides an efficient and easy-to-use facility. With the increase in usage of credit cards, the capacity of credit card misuse has also enhanced. Credit card frauds cause significant financial losses for both credit card holders and financial companies. In this research study, the main aim is to detect such frauds, including the accessibility of public data, high-class imbalance data, the changes in fraud nature, and high rates of false alarm. The relevant literature presents many machines learning based approaches for credit card detection, such as Extreme Learning Method, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Logistic Regression and XG Boost. However, due to low accuracy, there is still a need to apply state of the art deep learning algorithms to reduce fraud losses. The main focus has been to apply the recent development of deep learning algorithms for this purpose. Comparative analysis of both machine learning and deep learning algorithms was performed to find efficient outcomes. The detailed empirical analysis is carried out using the European card benchmark dataset for fraud detection. A machine learning algorithm was first applied to the dataset, which improved the accuracy of detection of the frauds to some extent. Later, three architectures based on a convolutional neural network are applied to improve fraud detection performance. Further addition of layers further increased the accuracy of detection. A comprehensive empirical analysis has been carried out by applying variations in the number of hidden layers, epochs and applying the latest models. The evaluation of research work shows the improved results achieved, such as accuracy, f1-score, precision and AUC Curves having optimized values of 99.9%,85.71%,93%, and 98%, respectively. The proposed model outperforms the state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning algorithms for credit card detection problems. In addition, we have performed experiments by balancing the data and applying deep learning algorithms to minimize the false negative rate. The proposed approaches can be implemented effectively for the real-world detection of credit card fraud.

Drowsiness or fatigue is a major cause of road accidents and has significant implications for road safety. Several deadly accidents can be prevented if the drowsy drivers are warned in time. A variety of drowsiness detection methods exist that monitor the drivers’ drowsiness state while driving and alarm the drivers if they are not concentrating on driving. The relevant features can be extracted from facial expressions such as yawning, eye closure and head movements for inferring the level of drowsiness. The biological condition of the drivers’ body, as well as vehicle behavior, is analyzed for driver drowsiness detection. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the existing methods of driver drowsiness detection and presents a detailed analysis of widely used classification techniques in this regard. In this research study, first we classify the existing techniques into three categories: behavioral, vehicular and physiological parameters-based techniques. Secondly, top supervised learning techniques used for drowsiness detection are reviewed. Thirdly, the pros and cons and comparative study of the diverse method are discussed. In addition, the research frameworks are elaborated in diagrams for better understanding. In the end, overall research findings based on the extensive survey are concluded which will help young researchers for finding potential future work in the relevant field.

With the rapid growth of surveillance cameras to monitor the human activity demands such system which recognize the violence and suspicious events automatically. Abnormal and violence action detection has become an active research area of computer vision and image processing to attract new researchers. The relevant literature presents different techniques for detection of such activities from the video proposed in the recent years. This paper reviews various state-of-the-art techniques of violence detection. In this paper, the methods of detection are divided into three categories that is based on classification techniques used: violence detection using traditional machine learning, using support vector machine (SVM), and using deep learning. The feature extraction techniques and object detection techniques of the each single method are also presented. Moreover, datasets and video features that used in the techniques, which play a vital role in recognition process are also discussed. For better understanding, the steps of the research approaches have been presented in an architecture diagram. The overall research findings have been discussed which may be helpful for finding the potential future work in this research domain.

Natural language processing (NLP), a prominent research domain of Artificial Intelligence (AI), analyzes users’ generated content on social media for various purposes like sentiment analysis, text summarization, chatbots, fake news detection, etc. Recent advancements in NLP have helped for analysis of human behavior analysis and predicting various human personality traits. Understanding personality traits has long been a fundamental pursuit in psychology and cognitive sciences due to its vast applications for understanding from individuals to social dynamics. Due to online social platforms where people express their views, experiences and comments, NLP is applied for users’ behavior and personality analysis, which is helpful in defining marketing strategies, consumers’ behavior analysis, team building, etc. This research study provides a comprehensive overview of existing methodologies, applications, and challenges in the field of personality traits detection using shallow machine learning, ensemble learning and deep learning. To conduct this study, recent research publications relevant to NLP for this new but emerging research domain are reviewed. The background knowledge of personality models of various nature is discussed for better domain understanding. The study encompasses machine learning and deep learning models with thorough analysis of traditional and innovative techniques including ensemble learning and transformer-based models in chronological order highlighting the trend analysis showing evolution of application of advanced methods. The review also presents and compares the widely used datasets which may guide the researchers for selection of datasets in future studies. Performance evaluation metrics have been discussed which are used in the relevant literature. Furthermore, it explores the application of research of personality traits detection in various domains highlighting its significance. We have also carried out extensive empirical analysis using conventional textual to advanced deep embedding features and applying machine learning, ensemble learning and deep learning algorithms. Finally, before conclusion, the review highlights the open research issues and challenges as potential future directions for the researchers.
