Wen-Chang Tsai received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the Kaohsiung University of Technology, Kaohsiung, Taiwan and the University of Strathclyde, U.K., in 1989 and 1991, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the National Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in 1997. From 1997 to 2001 he was an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Far-East University. From 2001 to 2018, he was an Associate Professor/Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Kao-Yuan University. Since 2018, he has been with the School of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Xiamen University Tan Kah Kee College, China, where he is currently a professor. His research interests include smart microgrid, renewable energy system, wind turbine design, driving circuit design, small aeroengine control.
