Experienced dietitian with expertise in: gerontology nutrition, lifecycle nutrition, nutrition assessment, clinical dietetics, public health nutrition. Undertaken a sustained programme of research focused on improving the nutritional health of older people with focus on the interrelationship between nutrition status and health outcomes in ageing populations. Investigator in Life and Living to Advanced Age: a Cohort Study in NZ and NZ Health, Work and Retirement Study. Evaluated malnutrition risk factors across community, hospital and residential care settings. Leads the ENRICH study which seeks to Evaluate Nutrition Risk and Intervene to enCourage Healthy eating. Collaboration with District Health Board to develop reliable assessment tools to evaluate hydration status of hospitalised older adults.
